Road To ONE! (Pt1)

The news that the hubster & I were entering the grandparent realm, more than took us by surprise! Had you told me a year ago that I would absolutely delight in my grand mommy duties, I quite truthfully, would have called you a LIAR..lol. I cope by planning, and planning was exactly what I did. The baby shower was wonderful, and we were truly blessed by those who attended. (I will share those photos in another post soon...I promise!)

Time passed so quickly, and the little Princess who has stolen our hearts is about to turn ONE!!!

I promised our daughter that I would reign in my planning and NOT make this an over the top event. Sadly, it appears that I am failing miserably in that arena, but hey the daughter of our oldest daughter who just happens to be our FIRST grandchild only turns one, once in a lifetime, right??? R-I-G-H-T, enough said.

Now, my first thought was to go with a traditional Christmas theme, but then every time I looked at her beautiful smile, I felt she deserved to have her own unique day, with no other holiday intruding on her décor. She's affectionately known as her Papa's Princess, but the Princess theme has been done so many times, that wasn't unique enough either. Keep in mind, I want it to look glam, but not cost me glam MONEY. You know, #bougieonabudget

And then...I got a bolt of inspiration!  (see below) Bet you are wondering what the heck I will be creating with a basket, beach ball & hula hoop?

BTW our local KMart is closing..so I scored what you see in the pic PLUS 3 more beach balls for a total of $12.82  #winning
