I have always had a facination with note books & pens. More like a borderline obsession..especially with a GOOD ink pen..lol! Writing is theraputic, and tends to remind me of back in the day when I received that first diary, you know the one with the "lock" that anyone could pick, you just didn't know it at the time!

I seriously have journals and notebooks Ehh.Ver. Ree.Where! Each new project needs its own book, as well as my never ending to do list, plus the notebooks that I take on client meetings. 

A decade ago (wow that makes me sound old), I was promoted into a high profile position, and was blessed to have a boss who was genuinely vested in seeing me succeed. Best piece of advice that she ever gave me was, 
"Shan, you don't HAVE to remember everything. You simply need to write it down, and remember where you wrote it!" 
Awwh...the key to becoming Super Girl, in my case Wonder Woman because I always loved Linda Carter and that invisible airplane. BEHOLD my current beauty (Mother's Day gift from the hubster & crew). Also came with a mega sized coffee cup (probably adds to my insomina, but oh well!)

Camp Parks loves, loves, LOVES just about any seafood. This almond baked tilapia finished with a citrus & herb pan sauce is one of our favorites! 

The method & seasonings work well on trout, salmon and even shrimp. This quick dish is great on a week night and elegant enough to serve on a special occasion too. ENJOY!

This casserole makes a great side dish. Add cooked, chopped chicken or ham for a tasty meal.  Serve with crusty bread and a fresh salad and you've got dinner in the bag. Kitchen Tested; Camp Parks APPROVED!!!

​Leadership is an artform, and I for one believe that is also a cultivated skill. It requires time and self development. I remember (in my 20's) how I used to get weary at the many conferences & workshops that my employers would require me to attend.

Now (in my 40's) I realize the huge investments those companies were making in my future, simply because they saw something in me that I had yet to see in myself...I WAS A LEADER!

I promised our daughter that I would reign in my planning and NOT make this an over the top event. Sadly, it appears that I am failing miserably in that arena, but hey the daughter of our oldest daughter who just happens to be our FIRST grandchild only turns one, once in a lifetime, right??? R-I-G-H-T, enough said.

Now, my first thought was to go with a traditional Christmas theme, but then every time I looked at her beautiful smile, I felt she deserved to have her own unique day, with no other holiday intruding on her décor. She's affectionately known as her Papa's Princess, but the Princess theme has been done so many times, that wasn't unique enough either. Keep in mind, I want it to look glam, but not cost me glam MONEY. You know, #bougieonabudget

And then...I got a bolt of inspiration!  (see below) Bet you are wondering what the heck I will be creating with a basket, beach ball & hula hoop?

BTW our local KMart is closing..so I scored what you see in the pic PLUS 3 more beach balls for a total of $12.82  #winning
